HR Generalist (INTERNAL)

Summary

The HR Generalist will serve as the first point of contact for employee and manager questions around general HR questions or support. The generalist team will also be focused on promoting HR Programs and initiatives at the local level. 

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee/manager questions and concerns about process, policy, procedure, compensation, and benefits
  • Execute HR processes in collaboration with other functional Human Resources leaders
  • Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace
  • Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form
  • Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly and organizing team building activities
  • Assist the talent acquisition team as needed with candidate outreach events such as career fairs
  • Evaluate and escalates employee concerns requiring additional intervention from the Employee Relations team
  • Drive continuous improvement in HR programs, proactively making recommendations for improvements in a manner consistent with the company’s mission values
  • Provide project accountability on assigned HR-specific projects and initiatives
  • Ensure employee and site compliance with company policies
  • Ensure legal compliance by monitoring applicable federal, state and local HR-related requirements, assisting with investigations and maintaining appropriate written records
  • Facilitate effective change management in collaboration with the HR Business Partner and location leadership teams
  • Encourage people and culture practices that promote retention of key talent
  • Respond to unemployment claims and fact finding interviews

Required Skills and Experience

  • Associate Degree in Human Resources or related field, or minimum of 2+ years of Human Resources related experience
  • Knowledge of general HR practices
  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and work streams to deliver quality results
  • Experience with HR systems to include timekeeping, payroll, benefits, etc.
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Experience utilizing productivity tools such as Microsoft Office, PowerPoint and SharePoint

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field
  • Bilingual (Spanish)
  • SHRM Certification
  • Experience in Manufacturing and/or Healthcare Industry

Physical Requirements

  • Repetitive motions that include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting, remaining in a stationary position for prolonged periods
  • Visual perception to perform job including peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
