Plate & Pack Lead (INTERNAL)

Summary

The Plate and Pack Lead works with the Supervisor to monitor and maintain production on the lines to ensure they are running properly, including moving team members to appropriate areas within the department as needed.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to

    • Fill in for all plate and pack position as needed.
    • Verify processed product counts and complete the required paperwork accurately
    • Take inventory of sub comps to determine efficient planning of schedule demands for the room
    • Organize the team breaks to optimize efficiency and coverage of the line
    • Collaborate with supervisor to accomplish the day’s projection
    • Assist Supervisor in preparation for the shift hand-off meeting for the oncoming shift
    • Use all required safety equipment and consistently follow all food-related sanitation and operating safety guidelines
    • Assist with training new employees as needed
    • Take the initiative to see and assist with general cleaning tasks in the area
    • Collaborate with Quality Assurance as needed on and issues or concerns
    • Serve as role model regarding GMPs, food safety, general safety, and wearing PPE
    • Work as a team and maintain good communication
    • Must be willing to be trained and comply with all necessary food safety programs, SOPs, GMPs as they relate to the food safety management system for their department

Required skills and experience

    • Prior manufacturing experience
    • Must have good food safety and workplace safety record
    • Initiative and team leadership skills
    • Must be able to speak/read/write in English fluently
    • Able to train and coach new employees on tasks
    • Demonstrated commitment to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and other food safety rules

Preferred skills and experience

    • Associate degree or trade school
    • Prior machine operation using production processing or packaging experience
    • Scanning and AX/inventory experience
    • Experience using forklifts and pallet jacks
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

Physical requirements

    • Regularly required to use hands to handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms
    • Frequently is required to stand, talk, and listen.
    • Occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel or crouch.
    • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
    • Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
    • Able to perform repetitive movements
    • Able to work in variable temperatures

Areas of responsibility are decant, dish room, CIP systems, WIP storage and spice batching.
