Systems Administrator (INTERNAL)

Summary

The IT Systems Administrator will maintain and improve our IT systems. You will analyze system requirements, address any problems and provide tested solutions to ensure performance and security. As an IT Systems Administrator, you will be joining a team of engineers, administrators and specialists who are passionate about enhancing technology to improve business processes. You will be responsible for handling ticket escalations, administration, internal support of the enterprise computer systems and peripherals. This position will lead documentation efforts for IT and escalation tracking with the Tier 2 and Tier 3 team as required. This position will also assist with the identification and remediation of vulnerabilities across all IT Systems and endpoints.  

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to

  • Examine and evaluate current systems and identify system requirements
  • Communicate with users on additional requirements and features
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams
  • Validate changes through testing
  • Train users on the new systems and provide support
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and technical advancements
  • Under limited supervision, provide analysis, design, standardization, implementation, and maintenance of server and storage systems in support of all business units including publicly visible operations
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented systems for ease of operation, maintenance, identification, and handoff to other support departments
  • Support Windows and business applications both on premises and in the cloud
  • Monitor and enforce software compliance as applicable to ensure the environment stays current with technology and security demands
  • Provide escalated support of the Audio/Visual/CCTV infrastructure across the multiple locations
  • Analyze current or potential business processes and review existing information systems to identify opportunities for improvements
  • Assess and quantify potential benefits of solutions for business and technical processes
  • Adhere to best practices for software design, retention, documentation, and deployment strategies
  • Ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies, methods, and processes
  • Ability to multitask, given various task assignments, assisting management in prioritization of tasks
  • Act as escalation point of contact for IT Support Team
  • Work across IT functions to troubleshoot and remediate issues that may arise on technical systems and applications used across the business
  • Strive to improve business processes that align with industry and company best practices to enhance security, efficiency, and process improvements
  • Participate on the design, implementation, testing, and processes for new technology functions, applications, and systems
  • Research new technology and report to IT Leadership findings; present findings that show business value
  • Build dashboards (i.e., Power BI), document reports, PowerPoints, etc. that show statistical data from ticketing systems, patching, and other system information; this data will be used to identify deficiencies and assist with the development for process, efficiency, security enhancements
  • Detect, identify, and remediate vulnerabilities across desktops, servers, mobile devices, and other devices/systems as required to drive down risk across the enterprise.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Associate’s degree in IT related field or equivalent experience
  • 5 years’ relevant work experience
  • Proficient use of Windows 10, MS Office, Power BI and other traditional software tools
  • Knowledge of Windows Server Administrative Tools, Microsoft 365 administration, Azure and Active Directory Administration, and knowledge of windows server environments and server software
  • Intune, Samsung Knox, and other MDM tool knowledge
  • PC and Laptop imaging, configuration, and support

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT related field or equivalent experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong ability to work with team members across multiple departments
  • Possess a “go-getter” mentality and be able to stay busy without being tasked with projects
  • Ability to lead a team with minimal supervision from management
  • Eager to learn new technologies, pursue technical training and certifications that will support personal and business growth

  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
  • Familiar with programming languages PowerShell, Python, or other automation technologies
  • Ability to talk technically to non-technical people
  • Willingness to learn, earn certifications
  • Ability to learn Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies and how they could securely be used to improve business processes, reduce cost and improve efficiency
