2nd Shift Machine Operator (INTERNAL)

North Jackson, OH | Kitchen | Production | Full-Time, 2nd Shift

Summary

The Machine Operator will operate, sanitize, and maintain Continuous Cook Ready to Eat (CCRTE) machines and work with team to ensure production needs are met. The production lines have multiple operators, this position will focus on a particular machine/part of the machine but will be expected to rotate/back up other Machine Operators.

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to

    • Maintain, control, operate, and sanitize machines and equipment used in the Continuous Cook Ready to Eat (CCRTE) operation
    • Ensure machine settings are calibrated and may train/provide guidance to others on how to properly operate equipment
    • Troubleshoot machine problems, make corrections, and/or coordinate with Manager and Maintenance personnel as needed 
    • Work as a team and maintain good communications with other Machine Operators, production line workers, and Quality Assurance
    • Do some sanitation between products and involves tear down, cleaning, and reassembly of machines; knowledge of sanitation techniques and proper chemical handling, and regular interaction with Quality Assurance
    • Help perform Warehouse Runner duties including use of forklift and pallet jack
    • Serve as role model regarding GMPs, food safety, general safety, and wearing PPE

Required Skills and Experience

    • Prior manufacturing experience
    • Must have excellent performance and attendance record
    • Must have good food and general safety record
    • Mechanical aptitude/experience is critical
    • Must read/speak English

Preferred Skills and Experience

    • Prior machine operation using production processing or packaging experience
    • Scanning and AX/inventory experience
    • Experience using forklifts and pallet jacks
    • Bilingual in Spanish

Physical Requirements

    • Regularly required to use hands to feel, grab, or operate objects, tools, and controls while reaching with hands and arms
    • Frequently required to stand, communicate, and listen
    • Occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel or crouch
    • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
    • Visual perception to perform job including peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
    • Able to perform repetitive movements
    • Able to work in variable temperatures (cold/hot)

The Forklift Operator will be responsible for performing various duties in the warehouse in a fast-paced lean environment, including but not limited to: Receiving and put-away of all inbound receipts. Loading and shipping all outbound pallets. Picking and loading pallets for shuttle to the Ohio Kitchen. Monitoring inventory levels of all items in designated Pick Line support locations, and refilling before inventory is depleted. Drop, move, and put-away quality impacted pallets as directed by Tech Services.
